It’s Not Too Late, Is It?

It's Not Too Late, Is It?

What did you hope to achieve by Christmas? Will you do it or have you already written the year off?

Hey, we all know it, 2020 has been a memorable year and for most people for all the wrong reasons. But that doesn’t mean rule a line through it, write it off and bury your head in the sand until 2021.

You have just under 6-weeks until Christmas imaging what you could achieve between now and then?

  1. Focus on what you can control and influence.
  2. Harvest the low hanging fruit.
  3. Plan and prepare for a successful January 2021.

There are many business owners I speak to who have been focusing on everything but what they have control and influence over. That’s not to say they aren’t important topics (well some of them may be). But there is no value focusing on what the state or federal government did or didn’t do back in April. That Sally from ‘ABC company’ is not following

social distance and has her nose hanging out of her facemask, or that Trump’s hair is decidedly whiter than it was a week ago.

It’s all fluff and distraction. Focus on what you have control over, and right now that should be what’s your low hanging

fruit and how do you easily and quickly harvest it.

You only have five weeks, but if you focus on the right fruit to pick you can finish 2020 off strongly. How do you increase your average customers spend? How can you pre-book future appointments or additional sales for January 2021? Stay engaged and connected with your customers and ad value where you can.

Now is also the time to be planing and getting prepared for January 1st 2021. You may not be back at it on January 1st, but you need to be ready to hit the ground running on day one of your return.

If not you’ve likely already blown 10% of your opportunities for 2021 before it’s even begun.

You’re thinking how?
Well, you take a week or two off over Christmas and New Year and don’t get back to work until Monday 11th January. And let’s be honest, you were happy to see the end of 2020 and haven’t put a single thought into 2021. You ease back into work catching up on a few leftover tasks and emails from late December and finally you have all your ducks in a row. It’s time to plan for 2021!

WOW, three weeks have past and it’s already February! You’ve lost over a month of opportunities and you’re still lacking clarity and focus on what you want and how you are going to achieve it…

It’s not too late. You still have over five weeks.
If you’re finding it hard to focus and finish 2020 off strongly give me a call, I am happy to have a chat and help.

Enjoy your week, and lead,

Dwight
